Sales and Services Coordinator

REPORTS TO: Chief Sales Officer
Travel Salem is seeking an energetic, proactive, extremely accurate, and detail-oriented Sales & Services Coordinator with a strong work ethic to join our Convention Sales and Sports Commission team.
This position plays a key role in delivering exceptional client experiences while supporting the sales process through strong administrative, logistical and coordination skills. The ideal candidate is highly organized, takes initiative, and thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
The Sales & Services Coordinator supports the coordination of familiarization (FAM) tours and group servicing efforts—ensuring every client interaction in-market is seamless, professional and memorable. Responsibilities also include CRM data entry and reporting, assisting with proposal development, and coordinating closely with local vendors and partners to bring customized experiences to life.
Working across both Meetings & Conventions and Sports, this role contributes directly to enhancing Salem’s value as a destination. Through a proactive approach and strong communication, this position helps the Sales team secure new business, strengthen relationships, and drive repeat visitation.

Visitor Center Volunteer
Travel Salem is seeking part-time, on call volunteers.
- Knowledge of Marion and Polk County region points of interest, as well as the ability to give accurate driving and walking directions is important.
- Knowledge of region’s events is helpful.
- Excellent hospitality/customer service skills are a must.
- Computer skills are important, along with internet search (Google) knowledge.
- Position will assist visitors in the Travel Salem Visitors Center and be the welcoming “face” of Salem and the two-county region.
Other skills and experience needed include:
- Creative thinking and problem solving
- Clear and concise oral and written communication
- Phone skills, ability to work a multi-line telephone system
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to lift 35 pounds
This position will assist the full-time Visitor Center Coordinator. The Visitor Center Volunteer will step in to help run the front desk and Visitors Center during busy times or while the Visitor Center Coordinator is out of the office. Scheduling will vary from a few of hours to a full day, as needed. Ideally, the volunteer would have a flexible schedule.
